Our theme for 2010 is pretty great in my opinion. Blue Grass Homecoming Days has been going on for more years than many of us have even been around Blue Grass and now we all have an opportunity to support our community and to keep with the tradition of “Blue Grass Days.” This years theme goes back to the roots of our annual homecoming. Ashlon Ford’s design was chosen from submissions by many Blue Grass fourth graders. We think it exemplifies the idea of supporting all of our service memebers along with being a real homecoming of family and friends. For three days in June each year our communtities business’, families, friends, and folks from in town all get to gather for our fun festival.

This year we’re excited to have so much support so early. The Blue Grass Community Club is a none-for-profit group so your donations are what make Blue Grass Homecoming Days possible. Your support has allowed us to begin Raffle Ticket sales early this year. It has made possible raffle prizes like a 42” Flat Screen TV, a Laptop Computer, and Gas Grill, along with many other donated prizes we have recieved. It is only March and we already have great prizes ready to go. If you, your business, or your employer would be interested in donating please call me at (563) 447-0255. I’m available nearly everyday except Wednesday. Or you can e-mail me at arronlorenz@gmail.com subject Blue Grass Homecoming Days.

So far this year we have a nice line up of events. Our early schedule has a 5K race in the planning stages, the Wild Oatz Band on Friday and Saturday nights, Fireworks on Saturday night @ 9:15, Beer Tent sponsored by Budweiser, an after party at the Communtiy Club with a DJ each Friday & Sat night with the bar open for business, Deal or No Deal, and the parade. We will keep you informed as new updates come available. You can also get up-to-date information at www.BlueGrassCommunityClub.com.
